Many of the prophecies it contains pertain to our day and age, and numerous Nephite and Lamanite historical events that Mormon carefully included mirror events in our time. In addition, prophets in the Book of Mormon clearly foresaw the ultimate discovery and unearthing of the 1000 years of Nephite records that Mormon “hid up.” That discovery in our day will be irrefutable evidence that Jesus Christ is who He claims to be and that the miraculous coming forth of the Book of Mormon and the restoration of the Gospel and the Church of Jesus Christ through Joseph Smith was directed by Him.
The Book of Mormon and its corresponding ancient records that Mormon "hid up," are key to preparing the world for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
